# Hello Chicks

> Hello Chicks is an Android app for egg farmers in India. Record eggs, feed and sales on your phone, even with no internet, and see what each day cost and earned.

Status: Pilot in development. Not yet publicly available; a pilot for layer farms of about 4,000 to 10,000 birds in India. Last updated 2026-10-25.

- [How to calculate hen-day egg production](https://hellochicks.com/blog/hen-day-egg-production/): Hen-day egg production (%) = eggs collected in a day ÷ number of live hens that day × 100. Use the hens alive on that day, not the number you started with.
- [How to work out feed cost per egg](https://hellochicks.com/blog/feed-cost-per-egg/): Feed cost per egg = (feed used × price per kg) ÷ saleable eggs in the same period. Use the same dates for feed and eggs.
